Using Anti-Psychotic Drugs
To use or not to use—this is the question at the centre of the discussion about using anti-psychotic medications. This is to treat people with the severe stages of Alzheimer’s. A recent article by the Globe & Mail, titled Antipsychotics Shouldn’t Be A Default Drug for Dementia. They argue that these drugs, often accompanied by dangerous side effects. They are being prescribed far too often, with sometimes life-threatening consequences for dementia patients.
