“Learning from this course has changed me. I am much more confident now.”
I am a caregiver working in a long-term senior care home. The theories were helpful and well-suited for my work with seniors. I have benefited from the teachings. It has helped improve the quality of both my work and life. This program also advanced my English learning as a second language. During and after completing the CDCP program, I consciously try to improve my spoken English in terms of pronunciation, intonation, and enunciation.Caregiver
“Extremely informative and applicable to my practice.”
I am a Social Worker in Long Term Care, and found this program extremely informative, and applicable to my role. As a Social Worker, I hadn't received specific training regarding gerontology or dementia/Alzheimer's and this course added a significant amount of information and expertise that is tangible and applicable to my practice. I found the information relevant, and am happy to say I have added a few more tools to my toolkit!Social Worker
“Hits on all of the issues presented to a caregiver”
I am so happy that I took this course. Thank you - the information is so well presented and hits on all of the issues presented to a caregiver! I look forward to utilizing the skills learned and already have been doing so - as I have a client with vascular dementia. I feel so much more confident in my time with her. I have already seen times when I utilize the "why" and put on my investigative hat - I can diffuse a situation before it really even begins.End-of-Life Doula
“Felt & experienced my confidence with the residents”
I enjoyed my entire course for the CDCP™ program. I am so glad to enroll as a mental gift to myself. It is very knowledgeable & has a variety of topics. As a new graduate of PSW, I find it gave me so much improvement in myself as a person, too. I already felt & experienced my confidence with the residents...Thank you Dementia Care Academy for all the support. The online events are so helpful & give a shine to people who live with symptoms of Dementia.Personal Support Worker
“Thanks evermore to all of the professionals in the world that are doing this very important work.”
Thanks for telling me that I have the ability to learn every day and to always be positive and to always ask "why". I also found it very helpful to be encouraged to reflect on past learning experiences so that I can improve and always seek to do the right thing in any given moment in time. Lastly, I found that the program taught me mostly to realize that I am not always going to be happy about the choices that my clients make. I have to reflect and accept the choices and move on. Ultimately, it is their life and not mine to live. My role is to support them in the best way I can. Thank you Dementia Solutions from the bottom of my heart.Family Support Specialist
